About Adolfo Domínguez: Adolfo Domínguez is a Spanish fashion designer.
He was born on 14 May 1950 in Ourense, Galicia, in northern Spain. He studied design and cinematography in Paris, later continuing his studies in London, England.
At the beginning of the 1970s, he took over his father's fashion boutique in Ourense. In the following years, he worked on developing his own designs. In 1981, he presented his work in Madrid, marking a significant step forward in his career and becoming the first Spanish designer to open his own branded store in Madrid. Soon, his retail presence expanded with branches not only throughout Spain but also internationally.
His style is urban, casual, and exceptionally comfortable, utilizing loose, natural fabrics. This approach is also reflected in his collection of sunglasses and optical frames. He was one of the first to enrich Spanish fashion with his unique approach and ideas. This inspired his generation and paved the way for new designers. His portfolio is also complemented by a range of successful perfumes.
In 2014, he was awarded the National Fashion Design Award.
